English
Development of grammatical skills, sentence construction, word usage, written and oral fluency. An introduction to comprehension work; weekly spelling test, formal and simple letter writing skills. Imaginative story writing and re- telling a story.

Mathematics
The four rules of number; place value; money; fractions; measurement of time and length, graphs to record and read data. Weekly times table tests using 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10. Mental Arithmetic.

Science
Themes covered include Autumn and Spring. Forces and Movement, Electricity, Health and Growth, Plants and Animals and Life Cycles. Topics follow a practical and experimental approach within Laboratory facilities to meet the recommendations of the National Curriculum.

History
The study of Dinosaurs, Stone Age, Bronze Age and the Romans.

Geography
Topics to include - Living in a Village and City; Mountains of the World; Looking after Nature, Directions, British Isles and Map work.

Religious Education
Variety of Bible Stories and an introduction to other religions.

I.C.T.
Introucing the children to some basic skills - full stops, capital letters, spacing, organising information, instructions. Being able to create pictures.

Music, Drama, Art and Craft, Physical Education... ...complete the curriculum.
