Sport and physical education is fundamental to the early development of children and youth and the skills learned during play, physical education and sport contribute to the holistic development of young people.
Through participation in sport and physical education, young people learn about the importance of key values such as honesty, teamwork, fair play, respect for themselves and others, and adherence to rules.
The children are given a sound introduction to many of the major sports:
All children swim on a weekly basis at the Nuneaton Pingles swimming pool throughout the year. Professional swimming teachers teach lessons children are instructed on badge work and life saving techniques in the latter years.
The children show confidence in competitive sports matches, which are played throughout the year with other schools. They also participate in local tournaments. The infant department make good use of the on site facilities for PE using the school gymnasium and school playground for lessons. Children from year three - six use a nearby sports ground for games throughout the week.
An inter-house and inter-school competition is arranged wherever possible. In every activity qualified and experienced staff work with the children in a sympathetic manner encouraging individual development, team work, enjoyment and, of course, respect for others.
