Nursery and Reception children have regular parents' evening sessions where parents and teachers can discuss the child's progress. There is also an informal meeting for parents of Nursery children during the academic year, when Nursery managers explain the curriculum to parents and advise them on how they can help at home.
Parents are very welcome to discuss any matters arising throughout the academic year with the Early Years Staff.
As children enter the Infant Department, liaison meetings are also held throughout the year, once in the Autumn term and a second during the Spring Term. Reports are sent out during the Spring and Summer terms. In the Junior Department, similar liaison meetings take place during the year.
Prefects chosen from year Six support these parent’s evenings and are also given roles within the school day. Two reports are written by Junior teachers throughout the academic year. Spring and Summer reports are detailed for every subject and the Spring report details scores achieved during the Spring term.
Teachers and parents are in a position to have regular liaison sessions. Teachers are readily available before and after the school day so that social, educational and behavioral issues and achievements can be easily discussed. Classes have a diary system which transfers from school to home on a daily basis. As children move through the school this gives the opportunity for communication through notes to the class teacher. These diaries can also be used to record homework and tasks and to act as reminders for excursions or in school activities.
The school utilises an online facility for parents allowing from remote access to recent formal communication from the school and to access financial elements of school life (to pay for trips and excursions)
